zerosugar helps you find zero-sugar swaps and restaurant orders. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell your data or use it for ads.
Without an account
Everything works without signing in. What you save (swaps, orders, your streak) stays on your device.
To improve the app we record anonymous usage: which pages are opened, what is searched or scanned, and taps on store links. These events carry a random device code — never your name, email, or location.
We also count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and does not identify you: it sees the page, the referring site and a rough country, and keeps no personal data.
With an account

Your email address, and your name if you sign in with Apple or Google and choose to share it.

What you save in the app, so it can follow you to other devices.
You can delete your account at any time from the account screen. That permanently removes your account and everything it has synced.
Photos and scans
When you scan a photo or barcode, the image or product name is sent to our servers and to Anthropic (Claude) only to recognize the item. We do not store your photos. To keep the scanner free for everyone, the number of scans per visitor is limited; we keep a short-lived count tied to your connection (IP address), not your identity.
Links to stores
Some links (for example Amazon) are affiliate links: we may earn a commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, zerosugar earns from qualifying purchases. When you leave zerosugar, that store's own privacy policy applies.
Videos
Creator videos play in TikTok's or YouTube's own player, and only after you tap. Those companies' privacy policies apply to their players.
Who processes data for us

Vercel — hosts the website and app servers, and counts page visits without cookies (Web Analytics).

Supabase — stores accounts, synced saves and anonymous usage events.
•
Anthropic — recognizes what is in a photo or scan.
•
Apple and Google — only if you choose to sign in with them.
Children
zerosugar is meant for people 13 and older. If you are under 13, please use it with a parent or guardian and without an account.
Health information
zerosugar does not ask for or store medical information such as blood sugar, insulin doses or diagnoses. Nutrition numbers come from product labels; always check the package and follow your care team's advice.
